Every year lakhs of aspirants appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, widely considered one of the toughest exams in India.

This year, the surprising element is that the top three candidates come from diverse backgrounds- an MBBS doctor Anuj Agnihotri has secured All India Rank 1 while Rajeshwari Suve M who is from an engineering background has secured All India Rank 2. Along with that, All India Rank 3 was secured by a commerce graduate- Akansh Dhull. This shows that aspirants who stay consistent in their UPSC preparation are bound to succeed with flying colours regardless of their background. 

The number of candidates recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Services, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services – Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ is 958.
